World Breastfeeding Week 2023
Aug 02, 2023It’s World Breastfeeding Week 🥳 🤱
Laura is 8 months into her feeding journey with Mia and she breastfed Luca for almost 3 years.
Here in the UK, we have some of the lowest breastfeeding rates in the world. One of the main reasons for this is… lack of support!
For those that choose to breastfeed, there will be so many hurdles to navigate through. And without the support of friends, family or medical professionals, it can be difficult to get through those challenging times.
Laura has faced so many challenges right from the first week feeding Luca all those years ago, through to very recently with Mia. From sleepless nights, cluster feeding, and the mental load of knowing you need to be on hand every hour or two, to poor latch, oversupply and mastitis, the list goes on. Without being able to lean on close friends, seeking private help and having a midwife who championed breastfeeding, it would have been difficult for Laura to push through those difficult moments.
It’s been a joy to see Laura so passionate about breastfeeding and to see her so passionate about supporting others, especially when close friends or family are experiencing some low moments. Thank you Laura for feeding our little ones, I do what I can, but you’ve made so many sacrifices over the years to continue your breastfeeding journey.
If you’re experiencing a challenging period right now, Laura often says, don’t decide the future of your breastfeeding journey after a rough night.
